Day 34: Fourth of July

Tonight we celebrated the Fourth of July in pretty standard American form, we went bar hopping and got really loud and pissed off all of the French around us. We first had a nice little picnic in the park for dinner and then we took off to some bars near where our classes are. At one of the bars they had a ton of American flags hanging up all over the bar and I decided since earlier in the trip I had managed to permanently borrow a kangaroo flag from some Australian bar it was my civic duty as an American to take an American flag. After all what would say about me as an American citizen if I would steal an Australian flag and not an American one, and besides the French would just have thrown away the flags so I practically was committing a patriotic act in taking it. In any event we hastily left the bar and celebrated the fourth of july all over the strip. Since there was like 20 of us anywhere we went we were loud and singing American classics (mostly God Bless the USA) and dancing (sprinkler, stanky leg, and other american classics). Fun fact: there is nothing french people hate more than this type of behavior. And what's more American than pissing off the French?
