So today was the first day of session 2 and my teacher is the same which is nice because I love her. We then went to Montmartre after class to just walk around and check out some side streets. I bought a brioche at this amazing bakery and it was sooo good. We then walked to near le Sacre Coeur and walked through an artist market full of artists painting and drawing in person. They were all really cool and it was so awesome to watch them paint but every one of their paintings was WICKED expensive. We also saw a lot of artists drawing portraits of people who paid for them and some of them were perfect (others were way off the mark so it was a huge gamble). We also got gelato at this amazing little gelato place with mountains of each flavor.
After Montmartre I took a nice little power nap and went for a run in Bercy Park which was so refreshing and scenic but the little ponds and flowers meant that every breath I took meant inhaling hundreds of small bugs.
We then had a nice little picnic in Bercy park which consisted of apples, cheese, peanuts, and a baguette which felt so Parisian and fresh. We had a soccer ball which we kicked around and we got to see a familiar parisian sight which was the filming of a rap music video. I probably see an amateur rap music video being filmed twice per week. We also befriended a homeless girl who came up to us to ask which McDonalds were open all night and when we asked why she told us about how her passport and wallet were stolen and her embassy wouldn't help her because she couldn't show any tax receipts. She had a friend flying to her but the flight from Japan was 16 hours so she was homeless for the night. One of the guys on the trip offered his bed for the night which was crazy nice but it was a pretty scary story.
